How to Care for Thick Hair

Hello people! Let’s talk hair! My hair is super poofy and hard to tame, but I’ve recently found different natural products to use in my hair to promote growth and keep my curls in check. If you have thick hair too, check out the products below:

Aloe vera is super soothing and promotes hair growth by stimulating the production of new hair. Mix this in with your shampoo to condition your hair during showers. Or you can make your own revitalizing shampoo by combining aloe vera with coconut milk, and oils, such as wheat germ oil or jojoba. Also, it doesn’t matter if you’re hair is super oily or super dry because aloe vera restores hair to it’s natural balance. Lastly, you can use this if you have  dandruff or an itchy scalp.

Shea butter is also ideal for restoring moisture and luster to hair because it’s a rich source of fat. Apply to your scalp if it is dry, irritated, or flaky. Also, you can apply shea butter to the individual strands of your hair to reduce dryness and breakage.

Lastly, keratin treatments can promote growth and keep your hair straight, but also have body at the same time.

Keratin is a protein that is naturally in our hair. Unlike a relaxer, keratin is better for hair because no extra, harmful chemicals are being added into the hair. The treatment is applied to the hair, and then sealed in with heat from a flat iron. After about an hour or two it’s washed out and ta-da, beautiful straight hair. The treatment lasts for about three months.

Here are some before and after pictures of the treatment:
